About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Financial Manager to join our luxury nature reserve based in White River, Mpumalanga. As a key leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring strong financial control, statutory compliance, accurate reporting, and strategic financial support across the reserve.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, cash flow projections and management accounts
- Deliver accurate and timely monthly financial reports
- Review daily financial operations including bank, debtor, creditor and cash reconciliations
- Oversee payroll reconciliations where applicable
- Manage cash flow, banking processes, payment runs and working capital
- Monitor expenditure against approved budgets
- Enforce strong internal financial controls and policies
- Ensure compliance with tax, VAT, COIDA and statutory requirements
- Coordinate and manage annual audits with external auditors
- Maintain and enforce financial governance frameworks
- Support donor reporting and 18A certificate processes where applicable
- Provide financial insights and reporting to management, Board or Trustees
- Review departmental expenditure and advise operational leadership
- Support strategic decision-making through financial analysis
- Lead, manage and develop the finance team
- Ensure performance delivery and continuous improvement within the department
Requirements
- BCom / BCompt or equivalent qualification (Accounting/Finance)
- Professional qualification advantageous (CA(SA), CIMA, ACCA, SAIPA, SAICA)
- 5+ years finance/accounting experience
- Minimum 2 years in a managerial/supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of SA tax and statutory compliance
- Experience in budgeting, cash flow and audit processes
- Advanced MS Excel and accounting system proficiency
