About the Role

A small luxury boutique hotel in South Africa is seeking an experienced Executive Housekeeper to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring exceptional standards of housekeeping, leadership, and management across all departments.

Key Responsibilities

Assist to Manage & Supervise housekeeping staff
Ensures inter-departmental co-operation, working collaboratively with other departmental heads to ensure maximum effectiveness and output for all departments occurs.
Makes daily checks on rooms and other facilities to ensure the standards have been met, and daily operational timings adhered to.
Keeps records and performs stocktaking exercises
Assists in receiving, storing and control of all Housekeeping supplies, equipment, linen and uniforms
Prepares housekeepers work duty lists and distributes master keys, ensuring that keys are returned at the end of every shift
Maintains an excellent and courteous relationship with guests
Performs additional management duties within the lodge environment.
Reports any maintenance defects to the Maintenance Department timeously
Performs whatever additional duties that Senior management deems fit
Be required to work overtime when requested by Senior Management

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position within a 5 star luxury property
Impeccable communication skills both written and verbal
Must be computer literate
Leadership experience
Strong training skills and experience
Effective rostering abilities
Knowledgeable with the controlling of expenses and inventories
Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position within a 5 star luxury property
