Job Description
We are hiring an Assistant Driver to Assist with loading and unloading products or equipment by hand or using hand trucks, pallet jacks, or other equipment[3].
- Help navigate or find delivery locations and assist the driver in preventing delays[1].
- Verify the quality and accuracy of goods before loading and after delivery, and report any discrepancies or damages to supervisors[1].
- Perform safety and vehicle checks, including inspecting vehicle fluid levels, tires, lights, and safety devices; report issues as needed[5].
- Maintain accurate records by compiling delivery receipts, obtaining customers signatures, and updating logs or delivery-related paperwork[3].
- Engage with customers to resolve complaints, answer questions, and ensure satisfactory service[3].
- Work closely with warehouse or dispatch teams to update delivery status and follow any route changes[6].
- Organize and secure cargo properly in the delivery vehicle to prevent movement and ensure safe transit[2].
- Maintain cleanliness of the delivery vehicle and workplace[5].
- Handle heavy objectsphysical ability to move goods weighing up to 5070 lbs may be required[6][8].
- Follow all company policies and safety procedures during transportation and delivery operations[3].
