About the Role
The Service Consultant will serve as a point of contact for clients seeking assistance and support with their medical aid and health-related products. The team provides medical aid advise, support, and claim management services to ensure that clients get the most from their medical aid.
Key Responsibilities
- Service delivery and liaison with clients (telephonically and via email)
- Liaison with medical schemes to manage and resolve client’s queries
- Ongoing support with the management of the client’s health portfolio (medical scheme, loyalty programmes, Gap product and other Health products)
- Sales of ancillary products such as gap cover, dentistry, extended oncology.
- Effective coordination to ensure timely processing of members service transactions (amendments, cancellations, general queries, option changes, dependent registration)
- Retention activities
- Optimisation of chronic cover (registration, formulary investigations, utilisation of benefits)
- Processing and activation of new broker appointments
- Updating existing client information
- Follow-up client calls where necessary
- Assistance with claims
- Assistance with other functions within the Administration area if and when required
Requirements
Knowledge and experience of the above-mentioned functions
Experience in a call centre or client service environment
At least 2 years’ experience in medical scheme industry is essential
Qualifications
National Senior Certificate or equivalent
