About the Role
The Paarl-based Article Clerk will be responsible for supporting the financial operations of our clients, ensuring accurate bookkeeping, and maintaining compliance with tax regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform bookkeeping and monthly accounting up to trial balance
- Capture and process financial transactions accurately
- Assist with preparation of annual financial statements
- Prepare and submit VAT, PAYE, and income tax returns
- Support SARS eFiling and liaise with SARS on queries
- Assist with payroll processing and statutory submissions (UIF, PAYE, SDL)
- Support audit and independent review engagements
- Prepare working papers and supporting documentation
- Perform bank, debtor, and creditor reconciliations
- Maintain accurate financial records for multiple clients
Requirements
- BCom Accounting or similar qualification (completed or in progress)
- Intention to register or currently registered for SAIPA articles
- Strong academic record (advantageous)
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g. Xero, Sage)
