About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Kitchen Supervisor to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing a team of 12 kitchen staff members, ensuring high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation. If you have a passion for cooking, excellent leadership skills, and a strong work ethic, we would like to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage 12 kitchen staff members
  • Ensure food quality, taste, and presentation standards are maintained at all times
  • Prepare and oversee the preparation of traditional ‘kook kos’ (e.g., rice, meat, potatoes, vegetables)
  • Follow and implement existing recipes and food preparation procedures
  • Maintain hygiene and food safety standards
  • Manage daily food production and kitchen operations
  • Monitor stock levels and assist with stock control
  • Ensure smooth daily kitchen workflow
  • Work closely with Filling Station Management (food division operates independently from the two filling station managers)

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a kitchen supervisory or similar role
  • Experience preparing retail-style cooked meals
  • Strong leadership and staff management skills

Qualifications

  • Basic administrative skills
  • Microsoft Excel skills highly advantageous
