About the Role
We are seeking a strong operational leader with a proven background in billing, payments, and process optimisation to take ownership of a dynamic billing environment and lead the planning, execution, optimisation, and continuous improvement of billing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and optimise billing operational processes across multiple collection streams
- Analyse operational data and reporting to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities
- Reconcile and synchronise information across operational systems and platforms
- Ensure accurate financial records and timely month-end billing close processes
- Drive billing and collections strategies aimed at improving performance
- Identify system issues and collaborate with IT teams to drive solutions
- Represent the department in projects and stakeholder forums
- Ensure strong operational controls and risk mitigation processes are in place
- Manage operational issues and develop sustainable solutions
- Support and lead project-based initiatives and process improvement opportunities
- Build resource plans and ensure departmental objectives are achieved
Requirements
- Proven experience in an Operations Management role
- Strong insurance industry experience
- Strong understanding of banking environments, debit orders, and payment systems
- Experience with digital collections and payment solutions
- Strong exposure to DebiCheck and authenticated collections
- Experience developing billing and debit order strategies
- Project management exposure
- Experience working with large datasets and reporting tools
- Advanced Microsoft Excel capability
- Experience presenting to senior stakeholders and executive teams
Qualifications
Matric (Grade 12)
Qualification in Business, Operations Management or related field advantageous
