About the Role
A position for an R & D Technologist is available in a remote area in the Western Cape, 200km from Cape Town, where you will be responsible for product development and all associated roles.
Key Responsibilities
- New product development and product maintenance: understand customer briefs, research recipes, create suitable recipes for factory production.
- Costings: complete BOMs of new products, research new raw materials and packaging costs.
- Kitchen trials: cooking of new recipes suitable for factory production.
- Providing samples to customers as requested.
- Product specifications: create final product specifications for introduced products.
- Source new raw and packaging materials as required for product development.
- Nutritional Analysis of recipes: work with Kosher and Halaal entities to obtain certifications.
- Artwork Review: review artwork against relevant regulatory, statutory, and customer guidelines to ensure compliance.
Requirements
- BSc in Food Science or ND Food Technology.
- At least 5 years experience in a similar role.
- Experience in FSSC 22000.
- Fully computer literate in all Microsoft Office Suites.
