About the Role
To ensure company products are engineered to local market requirements by designing, developing, testing and introducing locally manufactured components, we are seeking an experienced Electrical Component Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of technical/engineering concepts and design, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
- The release of Electrical components for vehicles
- The resolution of design related problems on all locally manufactured platforms
- Co-ordination of testing and release of components and system, locally and at source
- Maintaining and updating the BOM system
- Problem analysis
- Maintaining and updating the bill of materials system
- Cost analysis of various components, systems and projects
- Cost saving (PKO) initiation and investigations
- Project management on new or changed systems and components
Requirements
- National Diploma or bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering)
- A minimum of 5 years design and development experience in an automotive component for volume production
