Cape Town City Centre: HR Administrator (Fixed-term Contract) posted by Two Oceans Aquarium Trust

About the Role

The Two Oceans Aquarium team is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HR Administrator to support the HR Manager in the efficient day-to-day operations of the HR function, delivering HR services across both the Aquarium and its Foundation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the HR Manager across all HR functions
  • Maintain and update employee records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality at all times
  • Support statutory compliance processes, including Employment Equity, Skills Development, Health & Safety and Workmans Compensation
  • Manage leave administration, including tracking, reporting, and employee queries
  • Assist with weekly casual wages processing and onboarding of new employees
  • Coordinate and support end-to-end recruitment processes, including advertising roles, scheduling interviews, and onboarding
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Provide support on medium-level employee relations matters, including disciplinary processes and conflict resolution
  • Support integration between HR and finance processes, including providing accurate HR data for payroll, budgeting, and audits
  • Assist in developing, reviewing, and updating new and existing policies, where applicable

Requirements

Relevant qualification in Human Resources or related field

Proven experience in an HR administrative role for a minimum of two years

Sound knowledge of South African labour legislation and HR best practices

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

Good interpersonal and communication skills

Proficiency in MS Office and HR systems

Qualifications

  • Formal education/certifications (Bachelor’s, LLB, Matric, etc.)
