We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Executive Chef to lead the kitchen of an exciting new restaurant concept launching in Cape Town. This role requires a chef who thrives in a high-performance, fast-paced environment and brings both creative flair and disciplined operational oversight. The ideal candidate will take full ownership of the kitchenfrom menu design and sourcing to team leadership and kitchen systemswith a deep passion for mentorship, training, and developing junior chefs. A hands-on leader with an eye for detail, this individual will ensure exceptional culinary standards while cultivating a positive, collaborative, and learning-driven kitchen culture. Requirements Minimum 5 years experience in a Head or Executive Chef position in an upmarket, high-volume kitchen. The ability to mentor and train junior kitchen staff to elevate skill levels, maintain consistency, and promote internal growth. Extensive understanding of global flavours, seasonal ingredients, and contemporary presentation. Strong financial acumen (costing, wastage control, supplier management). Hands-on, energetic, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Strong understanding of food costing, kitchen operations, and quality assurance. Passion for innovation and the South African dining scene. Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
