City Deep: Accountant

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team at City Deep, where you will be responsible for providing financial leadership and support across various entities within the group. As a key member of our finance team, you will have the opportunity to work in a structured environment with exposure to multiple companies, utilizing your skills to drive improvements in finance systems and internal processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reporting for group purposes
• Maintaining general ledger integrity including reconciliations and journal processing
• Managing intercompany transactions and reconciliations
• Overseeing the accounts payable function, including both local and international suppliers
• Assisting with treasury and cash flow management across group entities
• Maintaining fixed asset registers and ensuring compliance with accounting and tax requirements
• Supporting stock control processes including stock counts and related adjustments
• Preparation and submission of VAT and other statutory returns
• Assisting with financial reporting requirements for the international holding company

Requirements

• BCom Accounting degree
• Completed SAIPA articles (essential)
• Minimum 3 years post-article accounting experience
• Strong Excel and financial systems skills
• Syspro experience advantageous
• Strong attention to detail and good communication skills
