About the Role
A well-established organisation is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Supervisor to lead its Head Office accounting team in Bryanston, Johannesburg North. This role is suited to a strong leader who thrives in a high-volume environment and is passionate about financial accuracy, strong internal controls, and meeting reporting deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Authorise daily payments on banking platforms and release new beneficiaries
- Update and distribute daily bank balances
- Review debtors and creditors reconciliations (fortnightly & month-end)
- Ensure that all team deadlines are met
- Review monthly reconciliations and follow up on outstanding items
- Escalate and resolve reconciliation discrepancies
- Ensure that the cashbooks balance before rollovers and period closures
- Authorise and prepare journals
- Assist with internal and external audits
- Perform GL and cashbook reconciliations
- Download and distribute monthly GLs and income statements
- Review and process monthly commission reports
- Provide guidance and support to team members
- Oversee general Head Office administrative support
Requirements
- BCom Accounting Degree
- 3-4 years experience within an accounting environment
- Proven experience supervising or managing a finance team
- Strong reconciliation experience (GL, debtors, creditors, and cashbook)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency
- Experience working on Accpac
- Experience within the Forex industry
