Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the general ledger, including all journal entries and monthly reconciliations
- Draft and review management accounts, financial schedules, and specialized reports
- Manage all VAT, PAYE, and corporate income tax submissions to ensure legislative alignment
- Maintain full regulatory compliance, including B-BBEE, FICA, and Department of Labour requirements
- Perform detailed tax reconciliations to mitigate risks and identify discrepancies
- Drive the month-end and year-end closing cycles
- Lead audit preparations and serve as the primary liaison for external auditors
- Provide critical input for budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis
Job Experience and Skills Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in a dedicated accounting and tax role
- Proven expertise in financial reporting, complex reconciliations, and tax compliance
- Previous experience managing audits and statutory submissions is highly advantageous
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel
- Technical fluency with modern accounting software systems
- In-depth understanding of VAT, PAYE, and corporate income tax laws
- Strong working knowledge of IFRS/GAAP standards
