About the Role
WatersEdge Solutions is partnering with a proactive and highly skilled Systems Administrator to join a dynamic infrastructure and support team. Key Responsibilities
- Administer, monitor, and maintain network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, VPN, wireless, firewalls)
- Install, configure, and optimise physical and virtual servers (Windows, Linux, VMware, Hyper-V)
- Support telephony infrastructure and proactively manage system alerts and uptime
- Lead troubleshooting for network and server issues (both on-site and remotely)
- Enforce patch management, backups, and preventative maintenance procedures
- Secure environments through policy creation and monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, SolarWinds)
- Oversee budget controls and software licence administration
- Collaborate on defining network performance and security protocols
- Stay current with emerging technologies and implement industry best practices
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in infrastructure maintenance
- Proven expertise in network administration (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, firewalls)
- Microsoft Azure experience and strong SQL backup knowledge
- Proficiency in Windows Server, Linux/Unix, and virtualisation technologies
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Zabbix, SolarWinds, Nagios)
- Strong scripting experience (PowerShell, Bash, or Python)
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and participate in an on-call rotation
