About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Executive Housekeeper to lead our team in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation at our sophisticated full-service hotel located in the heart of Sea Point, Cape Town Seaboard. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader who can balance the demands of high-occupancy leisure hotels with the specific needs of long-stay apartments and suites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Boutique Standard Maintenance: Ensure all 100 guest rooms and executive suites are maintained to a crisp, modern standard that appeals to international leisure and corporate travelers.
  • Coastal Asset Protection: Implement specific cleaning and maintenance protocols to protect furniture, fixtures, and electronics from salt-air corrosion and high-humidity coastal conditions.
  • Public Area Excellence: Maintain the aesthetic integrity of high-traffic areas, including the ocean-facing restaurant, pool deck, and urban lounge spaces.
  • Strategic Laundry Management: Oversee the laundry cycle to ensure rapid turnaround of high-thread-count linens, focusing on whitening standards and fabric longevity.
  • Environmental Sustainability: Lead the department in water-saving and eco-friendly cleaning initiatives, aligning with Cape Town’s sustainability focus.
  • Guest Personalization: Coordinate “VIP Arrival” protocols, ensuring personalized housekeeping touches for repeat international guests and long-stay residents.
  • Contractor Oversight: Manage relationships and performance for outsourced services such as window cleaning (essential for sea views) and specialized deep cleaning.

Requirements

  • Education: A formal qualification in Hospitality Management or Executive Housekeeping is required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in Housekeeping Management, specifically within a 4-star “urban-chic” or beachfront hotel environment.
  • Technical Knowledge: Expert knowledge of fabric care, high-end floor finishes (marble/wood), and specialized coastal cleaning agents.
