About the Role

Hire Resolve is currently assisting a well-established manufacturing company in Cape Town in their search for a Utility Maintenance Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operation of utility systems within the manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that all utility systems, including electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems, are functioning properly and efficiently to support the manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate the maintenance and repairs of utility systems, including electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems
  • Plan and schedule preventive maintenance activities to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance of utility systems
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements
  • Manage and provide technical guidance to the maintenance team
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • Monitor utility consumption and implement energy conservation measures
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repair history and costs

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in utility maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems
  • Excellent leadership and management skills
  • Proficiency in using maintenance management software
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of safety standards and regulatory requirements
