About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant Branch Manager to join our team at one of our Cape Town branches. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Branch Manager with the planning and managing of branch operations and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring all operational processes and procedures are strictly followed
- Maintaining good customer relations and ensuring customer satisfaction
- Ensuring that the scrap metal is purchased at the correct grade
- Ensuring records are updated and reconciled accurately for all items purchased and dispatched
- Ensuring Company policies and procedures, and health & safety regulations are adhered to
- Leading and supervising a team in order to achieve operational requirements
- Motivating staff on a continuous basis
- Ensuring that assistants thoroughly inspect scrap to be purchased
- Ensuring that the requirements of the Second-hand Goods Act are complied with when buying scrap by accurately recording all information required under the Act
Requirements
- Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Good numeracy skills
- Good communication skills
- Fluent in English
- Ability to work quickly and under pressure
- Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport
