About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team in Cape Town City Centre, supporting the financial management of a large multinational sports body. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the integrity of data and reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Process General Ledger journals accurately within the period of reporting
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations for review and sign off, with reconciling items cleared within 2 months of reporting
- Prepare monthly VAT reconciliation and file it with SARS
- Respond to SARS queries on VAT matters in a timely manner
- Review employee reimbursements in the ERP system
- Reconcile the AP employee expense account
- Track and follow up on credit card spend, ensuring timeous accounting of transactions by Line Managers
- Analyze general ledger accounts and report variances every month
- Open and maintain new and existing general ledger codes in the ERP system, with amendments authorised as needed
- Publish accurate and complete management accounts for Line managers to review
- Input weekly forex rates on the ERP system
- Perform ad-hoc financial activities, such as budget uploads and structure amendments in the ERP system, as required
