About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and guest-focused Field Guide to join our intimate luxury game lodge in the Balule Nature Reserve, Greater Kruger. As part of an unfenced private nature reserve, home to the Big 5 and an abundance of birdlife, this is a unique opportunity to deliver unforgettable safari experiences while working in a small team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead morning and evening game drives across the Balule Private Nature Reserve and Greater Kruger open system
- Conduct guided bush walks in line with qualifications and reserve protocols
- Deliver engaging, educational and memorable safari experiences for guests
- Ensure the safety of all guests at all times during activities
- Assist with vehicle checks, maintenance logs and general guide administration
- Support lodge operations and contribute positively to the small team environment
Requirements
- FGASA NQF2 – essential
- FGASA NQF4 preferred
- Apprentice Trails Guide qualification – essential (Lead Trails preferred)
- Valid ARH certificate – essential
- Valid SASSETA registration – essential
- Valid First Aid certificate – essential
- Valid PrDP – essential
- Valid NDT registration – essential
- Minimum 3 years’ guiding experience in a Big 5 environment – essential
- Excellent English communication and guest interaction skills
Salary & Benefits
Basic Salary: R11,000 to R12,000 per month (DOE)
Live-in: Own accommodation provided
