About the Role

Network Contracting is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead our maintenance function across the plant, ensuring maximum equipment availability and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in electrical or mechanical engineering and proven experience managing electrical and mechanical teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the maintenance function across the plant, ensuring maximum equipment availability and efficiency
  • Supervise and coordinate a team of foremen, technicians, and artisans
  • Ensure electrical and mechanical equipment readiness, minimising downtime and production interruptions
  • Implement and manage preventative and predictive maintenance systems
  • Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and implement sustainable corrective actions
  • Manage and execute CAPEX projects, including installation, commissioning, and optimisation of new equipment
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations, maintenance standards, and audit requirements
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to improve plant performance and reliability
  • Monitor maintenance budgets, control costs, and optimise resource utilisation
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and KPI tracking

Requirements

  • BTech or BEng in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (non-negotiable)
  • South African candidates will be given preference
  • Candidates who have a GCC Factories or who are in the process to write their GCC will be given preference
  • 3–6 years’ post-qualification experience in a manufacturing environment (FMCG, food, beverage, or packaging preferred)
  • Proven experience managing electrical and mechanical foremen and maintenance teams
  • Strong exposure to both electrical and mechanical systems in a production environment
  • Demonstrated experience in CAPEX project execution and equipment installation
  • Solid understanding of maintenance strategies, reliability engineering, and continuous improvement
  • Experience working with automated production lines and high-speed equipment
