About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Executive Chef to join our award-winning 5* Boutique Hotel in Polokwane. As Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all culinary operations, ensuring high-quality food and exceptional dining experiences. You will also be expected to develop menus, manage kitchen staff, maintain food safety standards, and control costs while upholding the hotel’s brand standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement menus
- Manage kitchen staff and conduct daily meetings and handovers
- Maintain food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Control costs and achieve food costing targets
- Run and control hotel breakfasts
- Manage a la carte and banqueting passes on a daily basis
- Design and implement recipes
- Conduct monthly stock takes
- Staff rostering
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a head chef position in a 5-star environment
- Fine dining experience is absolutely essential
- Strong leadership and management skills
Qualifications
- Formal education or certification in culinary arts (not specified)
Salary & Benefits
- Salary: R 35,000 per annum (live out)
- Note: The salary is inclusive of accommodation.
