Job Summary

A leading retail company situated in Cape Town is urgently seeking the expertise of an experienced Buyer (Paint) to join their team.

The role is very important since our business activities cannot begin without the necessary stock. The quality and variety of products on our shelves are essential for our success. Therefore, the ideal candidate must be a responsible individual with great attention to detail.

The goal is to ensure that the business will always have adequate stock that meets its requirements. That way we can deliver value to our customers through high-quality products and facilitate sustainable growth.

The successful incumbent for this position will be responsible for:

Developing a comprehensive strategy/plan to drive growth across the department.
Source and prioritize new brands and suppliers.
Deliver against key financial and service level performance indicators within the department.
Manage and develop supplier relationships, negotiate good prices, improve trading terms and manage suppliers according to strict SLAs
Develop a promotional program, source great deals and manage site merchandising for the department.
Support the operations team in delivering a world-class customer experience.
Manage stock and availability.
Supporting performance improvement initiatives for the Retail team.

Key requirements:

Relevant Degree/Diploma in Supply Chain
A minimum of 4 to 5 years experience within the Retail/FMCG industry with Retail Stores.
Specialist Paint knowledge and Paint Procurement experience.

Job Summary

Hire Resolves’ client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join their team as a Buyer in Cape Town. The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and negotiating contracts for goods and materials needed by the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of supply chain management, excellent communication skills, and the ability to analyze market trends to ensure the best purchasing decisions are made.

Responsibilities:

Source and evaluate potential suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery speed.
Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to ensure favorable agreements.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to determine procurement needs and requirements.
Prepare and issue purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and materials.
Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular performance evaluations.
Maintain accurate records of all purchases, contracts, and pricing information.
Analyze market trends and pricing data to make informed purchasing decisions.
Proactively identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize procurement processes.
Collaborate with the finance department to track and manage budgetary constraints.
Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in procurement.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Buyer or in a similar procurement role.
Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proficient in using purchasing software and other relevant computer applications.
Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Knowledge of supply chain management principles and best practices.
Familiarity with local and international suppliers and markets.

Job Summary

Hire Resolve’s client is seeking a skilled and experienced Buyer to join their team in the food industry in the Western Cape. The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing and procuring high-quality food products while ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to their company’s purchasing policies. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of the food industry, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers.

Responsibilities:

Source and procure food products, ingredients, and supplies from approved suppliers, ensuring high quality and cost-effectiveness.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating prices, terms, and contracts to ensure favorable pricing and conditions.
Analyze market trends, competitor prices, and product availability to identify potential opportunities for cost reduction and improvement in overall product offering.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as the production team and quality assurance, to ensure timely delivery of products that meet quality and safety standards.
Monitor and manage inventory levels to minimize stockouts and excess inventory while optimizing working capital.
Conduct regular supplier assessments to evaluate performance in terms of quality, delivery, and service levels.
Stay updated on industry developments, regulations, and market dynamics related to food sourcing and procurement practices.
Maintain accurate records of supplier agreements, contracts, and communications to facilitate effective supplier relationship management.
Participate in cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements in procurement operations.
Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and legal requirements related to procurement activities.
Using MRP and SYSPRO applications.

Requirements:

2 or more years’ experience as a buyer in the food or FMCG industry, preferably in Western Cape.
In-depth knowledge of food products, industry trends, and supplier networks.
Strong negotiation skills with a track record of achieving favorable pricing and contract terms.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Ability to analyze data and market trends to make informed procurement decisions.
Proficiency in using procurement software and tools.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of food safety and quality standards is preferred.
Must be proficient in Syspro

Job Summary

Hire Resolve is currently looking for a Buyer to join our client in the Western Cape.
The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing goods and services. This includes negotiating with suppliers, evaluating bids, and managing supplier relationships. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of procurement processes and excellent negotiation skills.
If you are a motivated and driven individual with a passion for procurement, we would love to hear from you.

Requirements:

Qualification in Retail, Business or Procurement Management
Proven experience as a Buyer or in a similar role
Previous retail, procurement and product management experience will be to your advantage
Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledge of procurement processes and best practices
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Ability to build and maintain relationships
valid drivers license
