About the Role
The Intermediate Electrical Engineer position at our client’s office in Cape Town City Centre requires a skilled professional to oversee the design, specification, and documentation of electrical building services for various projects. The ideal candidate will have excellent project management skills, strong communication abilities, and a deep understanding of South African building codes and electrical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, specification, and documentation of electrical building services (LV, MV, lighting, emergency systems, energy efficiency solutions, etc.)
- Project management from concept through to completion, including site inspections and commissioning
- Liaising with clients, architects, and other disciplines to ensure smooth project execution
- Ensuring that all designs meet regulatory requirements and relevant SANS codes
- Mentoring and reviewing the work of junior team members
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- ECSA registration as a Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng (non-negotiable)
- 5 years of post-qualification experience in Building Services design
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical calculation tools
