About the Role

Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Housekeeping Team Leader for a luxury hotel based in Cape Town. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated hospitality professional with strong leadership abilities and a passion for maintaining exceptional housekeeping standards within a five-star environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervising daily housekeeping operations and allocating tasks to room attendants and support staff
  • Ensuring all guest rooms, corridors, and public areas meet luxury cleanliness and presentation standards
  • Conducting regular inspections and spot checks to maintain quality assurance standards
  • Identifying and reporting maintenance issues, ensuring timely resolution
  • Supporting training, onboarding, and development of housekeeping staff
  • Providing on-the-job guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to team members
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations at all times
  • Maintaining accurate records of room status, cleaning schedules, and operational reports
  • Assisting with inventory control, stock management, and reporting shortages
  • Ensuring efficient use of housekeeping supplies to minimise waste and control costs
  • Responding to guest requests and ensuring prompt resolution of housekeeping-related issues
  • Coordinating with other departments to ensure smooth operational flow and guest satisfaction
  • Supporting VIP room preparation and special guest requirements
  • Assisting with staff scheduling, shift handovers, and daily operational communication
  • Maintaining professionalism and upholding hotel standards at all times

Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a housekeeping or similar supervisory role within a luxury hotel environment
  • Strong understanding of housekeeping operations and five-star standards
  • Proficiency in hotel management systems advantageous
  • Excellent leadership and team coordination skills
  • Strong attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness and presentation
  • Good communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Proactive, hands-on, and solutions-driven approach
