About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Housekeeping Team Leader to join our luxury hotel team in Cape Town. As a key member of our housekeeping team, you will be responsible for supervising daily operations, ensuring exceptional cleanliness and presentation standards, and contributing to the overall success of our five-star hotel.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervising daily housekeeping operations and allocating tasks to room attendants and support staff
- Ensuring all guest rooms, corridors, and public areas meet luxury cleanliness and presentation standards
- Conducting regular inspections and spot checks to maintain quality assurance standards
- Identifying and reporting maintenance issues, ensuring timely resolution
- Supporting training, onboarding, and development of housekeeping staff
- Providing on-the-job guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to team members
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations at all times
- Maintaining accurate records of room status, cleaning schedules, and operational reports
- Assisting with inventory control, stock management, and reporting shortages
- Ensuring efficient use of housekeeping supplies to minimise waste and control costs
- Responding to guest requests and ensuring prompt resolution of housekeeping-related issues
- Coordinating with other departments to ensure smooth operational flow and guest satisfaction
- Supporting VIP room preparation and special guest requirements
- Assisting with staff scheduling, shift handovers, and daily operational communication
Requirements
Grade 12 (Matric)
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a housekeeping or similar supervisory role within a luxury hotel environment
Salary & Benefits
