Lead a skilled electrical maintenance team in a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing environment where equipment reliability, safety, and operational excellence are critical to success. Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Foreman to manage a team of Electrical Artisans responsible for maintaining the availability and reliability of production equipment. The successful candidate will oversee preventative maintenance activities, coordinate breakdown repairs, ensure compliance with statutory requirements, and drive initiatives that improve equipment performance while reducing downtime and maintenance costs. Reporting to the Site Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting continuous manufacturing operations by ensuring electrical systems, installations, and maintenance activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in line with industry best practices. What You’ll Do • Lead and supervise a team of Electrical Artisans • Ensure 24-hour operational support through effective maintenance planning and execution • Coordinate and support major equipment breakdown repairs • Drive preventative maintenance programmes to improve equipment reliability • Conduct root cause analysis on equipment failures and implement corrective actions • Ensure maintenance work is completed safely and efficiently • Liaise with engineering stores, suppliers, and service providers to ensure spare part availability • Manage electrical equipment risk assessments and compliance initiatives • Support asset management and reliability improvement programmes • Monitor and manage contractor performance and compliance on site • Develop and improve maintenance work instructions and procedures • Coach, mentor, and develop team members to improve technical capability • Manage team performance, discipline, and attendance • Support Safety, Health, Environmental, Quality, and continuous improvement initiatives • Monitor and achieve agreed maintenance and operational KPIs What You Bring • Grade 12 qualification • N4 or Diploma in Electrical Engineering • Recognised Electrical Trade Test qualification • Minimum 7 years’ FMCG electrical maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment • Strong preventative maintenance and fault-finding expertise • Experience within continuous process manufacturing environments • Understanding of maintenance planning systems and procurement processes • Knowledge of electrical compliance and statutory requirements • Knowledge of the OHS Act, BCEA, LRA, and related legislation • Supervisory or team leadership experience is advantageous • Basic mechanical knowledge will be beneficial • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills • Experience conducting risk assessments and promoting SHE initiatives What Success Looks Like • Improved equipment reliability and reduced unplanned downtime • Effective execution of preventative maintenance programmes • Safe and compliant maintenance operations • Reduced maintenance rework and recurring equipment failures • Strong team performance and technical capability development • Effective contractor and supplier management • Achievement of maintenance and operational KPIs • Positive contribution to asset management and continuous improvement initiatives • Consistent support of safety, quality, and environmental standards
