About the Role

The Inventory Assistant role in our Cape Town City Centre warehouse is a critical support function that ensures accurate stock management, efficient operational processes, and high housekeeping standards. This position requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and excellent teamwork skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform second checks on incoming stock before it is warehoused.
  • Verify quantities, product condition, and packaging integrity.
  • Report any discrepancies, shortages, damages, or quality concerns to the Area Assistant and Controller.
  • Assist with transferring verified stock into the warehouse storage areas.
  • Ensure received stock is correctly packed onto storage pallets.
  • Warehouse stock onto designated storage pallets and locations.
  • Ensure pallets are securely stacked and wrapped to prevent damages.
  • Ensure products are correctly labelled and clearly identifiable.
  • Assist with organizing storage areas to maintain accessibility and order.
  • Ensure compliance with stock storage procedures.
  • Replenish pick faces from bulk storage locations when required.
  • Report slow-moving or aging stock to the Area Assistant and controller.
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards in warehouse storage and picking areas.

Requirements

Basic Grade 12. Basic warehouse experience advantageous. FMCG experience advantageous. Hyster licence would be added advantage.
