Cape Town City Centre: Contracts Manager – Fire Protection Industry

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. As a key member of our Projects Division, you will be responsible for managing multiple fire protection projects simultaneously, ensuring their successful delivery within budget and timelines. You will also be the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers, and will be required to maintain strong client relationships and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage multiple fire protection projects simultaneously, including sprinkler, hydrant, hose reel, and fire suppression systems.
• Oversee project planning, scheduling, execution, and close-out activities.
• Review contract documents, technical specifications, and project requirements.
• Ensure projects are delivered within budget and contractual timelines.
• Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions where necessary.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
• Attend project meetings, site meetings, and progress reviews.
• Maintain strong client relationships and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Manage contract variations, claims, and negotiations professionally.
• Supervise project managers, site supervisors, technicians, and subcontractors.

Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric
• Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or similar.
• Minimum 5 years experience within the fire protection industry.
• Proven experience managing fire sprinkler and fire protection projects.
• Strong knowledge of SANS regulations and fire protection standards.
• Experience managing contracts, budgets, and project teams.
