About the Role

A South African company operating in the energy, oil, and gas sector is seeking an experienced Microsoft Specialist to take ownership of the administration, governance, and ongoing optimisation of their Microsoft 365 and Azure environments. The role focuses on implementing robust policies, enforcing technical best practices, and ensuring a secure, efficient, and reliable Microsoft ecosystem across their global operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and manage all Microsoft services, including Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, Intune/Endpoint Manager, Azure, and related Microsoft 365 tools.
  • Develop, document, and enforce policies and best practices for identity management, access control, device compliance, data governance, and security.
  • Oversee license management, provisioning, and lifecycle administration across multiple business units.
  • Design and implement automation and integration between Microsoft services to streamline operations.
  • Maintain monitoring, reporting, and auditing of Microsoft 365 and Azure environments to ensure compliance and performance.
  • Provide advanced IT support to international and local offices, resolving escalated Microsoft-related incidents and service requests.
  • Participate in incident response, change management, and service improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure user training, onboarding, and documentation for Microsoft applications and collaboration tools.

Requirements

  • 5 years of hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365 and Azure environments.
  • Strong knowledge of identity, endpoint, collaboration, and security services within the Microsoft ecosystem.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing Microsoft governance frameworks and compliance controls.
  • Relevant certifications such as:
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals
  • Solid understanding of network infrastructure, IT security, and cloud architecture.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and cross-functionally in a global environment.
