Cape Town City Centre: Paralegal – Employment & Labour Relations

Job Description

Employment Contracts & Legal Documentation Draft, edit, and issue employment contracts, addendums, confidentiality agreements, and sales rep agreements Maintain accurate version control and ensure all documentation reflects current labour legislation Handle contract renewals, amendments, and terminations Keep a secure, organised, and legally compliant contract database Labour Relations Support Prepare written warnings, notices, and other disciplinary documents Attend and minute disciplinary hearings Compile documentation packs for disputes or external legal proceedings Ensure all processes and documents meet procedural fairness requirements Compliance, Reporting & Regulatory Support Manage Employment Equity submissions (EEA) Assist with SETA requirements including WSP and ATR submissions Support BBBEE documentation and related compliance needs Maintain employee files for audit readiness and statutory compliance HR Operational Administration Oversee onboarding and exit documentation Manage leave records and liaise with payroll on updates Update HR policies, employee handbooks, and compliance manuals Administer employee benefits (medical aid, provident fund, etc.) Issue purchase orders and handle claims linked to legal or compliance work Maintain HR registers and attendance records Candidate Profile The right candidate will: Bring 68 years of relevant experience in labour relations and contract administration Be highly detail-oriented, structured, and compliance‑driven Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism Be comfortable working mostly onsite, with one remote day per week Participate in weekly UK‑team collaboration sessions ( 10:0018:00 on the designated day) Have strong knowledge of South African labour legislation Be able to draft formal documents independently and confidently Qualifications & Experience A relevant qualification in Human Resources, Labour Relations, or Law Demonstrated experience in labour relations administration Solid background in drafting and managing employment contracts Experience with EEA, SETA, and other compliance reporting is advantageous Exceptional written communication skills Contact

Key Responsibilities Contracts & Legal Documentation Draft, review, amend, and issue employment contracts, addendums, confidentiality agreements, and sales representative agreements Maintain version control and ensure documentation aligns with current labour legislation Manage contract renewals, amendments, and terminations Maintain a secure and compliant contract repository Labour Relations Administration Draft warnings, notices, and disciplinary documentation Take minutes in disciplinary hearings Prepare documentation packs for labour disputes or external legal processes Ensure procedural fairness and documentation accuracy Compliance & Reporting Manage Employment Equity (EEA) reporting Coordinate SETA submissions (WSP/ATR) Support BBBEE documentation requirements Maintain up-to-date employee files in preparation for audits HR Operational Administration Oversee onboarding and offboarding documentation Manage leave administration and reporting to payroll Maintain and update HR policies and employee manuals Administer employee benefit documentation (medical aid, provident fund, etc.) Issue purchase orders and manage claims related to legal or compliance matters Maintain attendance reporting and internal HR registers Candidate Profile We are seeking a professional who: Has 68 years relevant experience Has strong exposure to labour relations and contract administration Is highly organised, structured, and compliance-focused Demonstrates high levels of discretion and confidentiality Is comfortable operating in a fully office-based environment with one day work from home One day per week to work with UK team (10am start 18:00) Has sound knowledge of South African labour legislation Is confident drafting formal documentation independently Qualifications & Experience Relevant qualification in Human Resources, Labour Relations, or Law Proven experience in labour relations administration Experience drafting and managing employment contracts Exposure to EEA, SETA, and compliance reporting (bonus) Strong written communication skills REF: CTD000305.
