Cape Town City Centre: Qualified Maintenance Electrician – Heavy Industry

Job Description

The Group has a position available for a suitably experienced, attention to detail and dedicated individual to join the Engineering team as a Qualified Electrician. The successful candidate will report to the Electrical Department Manager. Included in the responsibilities are: Assisting the team with maintenance and upgrading of existing electrical control and distribution systems Electrical diagnoses and suitable repairs Housekeeping Point to point checks on PLCs Point to point checks on control and power systems Read and correctly interpret electrical diagrams Attending to plant maintenance and breakdowns Assist the department manager with ad-hoc duties Qualifying Criteria Qualified Red Seal Electrical Trade test Minimum of 8 years relevant working experience Adhering to the regulations as set out in the Occupational Health and Safety Act Atleast National N3 certificate for Electricians Good communication skills, (speak, read and write English) Prepared to work overtime Valid Driver’s license Qualifying Attributes: Must be able to work with minimum supervision Basic computer proficiency Ability to work independently as well as in a team Self-motivated and results orientated Must have sober habits Enjoy practical and manual work & be able to work in a pressurized environment Attention to detail Sound understanding of an array of tools and technical equipment Good hand-eye coordination Full understanding and knowledge of Health and Safety Rules and regulations Time and priority management Display a professional work approach Logical and detail orientated Excellent standards of execution Reporting to : Electrical Manager Job type : Permanent position Benefits include · Provident fund · Life cover at 4X annual salary · Funeral cover · 15 x paid leave days per annum · Long service leave after five years of employment Standard hours 07h30–17h00: Monday – Thursday 07h30–16h00: Friday May be required to work overtime as per operational requirements Salary We offer a competitive package depending on the extent of the applicant’s qualifications and experience.
