About the Role
A leading building contractor is seeking an experienced Registered SACPCMP Safety Officer to join their team on prestigious large multi-level apartment developments within Cape Town. The ideal candidate will be a professional and highly organised individual with excellent communication skills, able to enforce safety standards and promote a strong safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular site inspections and identify potential hazards
- Implement corrective and preventative actions to maintain a safe working environment
- Facilitate toolbox talks, safety inductions and ongoing safety training
- Compile and maintain all safety files, registers and statutory documentation
- Work closely with site management, subcontractors and the project team to promote a strong safety culture
Requirements
- Registration as a Safety Officer with SACPCMP (essential)
- Relevant qualification in Occupational Health & Safety
- Minimum 5 years experience as a Safety Officer within the construction industry
- Proven experience on large building projects, including multi-storey residential or commercial developments
