About the Role

As a Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer in Cape Town City Centre, you will play a pivotal role in guiding our infrastructure and automation efforts to achieve cloud-native excellence. You will work closely with development teams to shape architecture, strengthen reliability, and level up deployments, ensuring that our platforms are battle-ready for any challenge that comes their way.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guide raw potential through each evolutionary stage of infrastructure, automation, and reliability
  • Transform solid foundations into cloud‑native champions by fighting latency, outages, and manual toil
  • Level up deployments and strengthen reliability alongside development teams
  • Coordinate with teams like a well-trained squad to achieve common goals
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and application issues under pressure

Requirements

  • Strong experience working with major cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
  • Choosing the right environment like a seasoned trainer picks their strongest starter
  • Hands‑on expertise with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
  • Solid knowledge of containerisation with Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes
  • Good understanding of monitoring, logging, and performance tuning
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure and application issues under pressure

Qualifications

Relevant IT degree or diploma (Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or similar)
