About the Role

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced Executive Housekeeper for a luxury hotel in Cape Town. The successful candidate will oversee all housekeeping operations, lead the team, and ensure exceptional five-star standards of cleanliness, presentation, and guest service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain exceptional cleanliness and presentation standards
  • Achieve and sustain guest satisfaction scores of 90%
  • Deliver personalised, detail-oriented service in line with brand standards
  • Ensure 100% room readiness aligned with check-in times
  • Maintain efficient turnaround times without compromising quality
  • Coordinate with Front Office and Maintenance for arrivals and departures
  • Implement and monitor daily cleaning schedules
  • Lead, train, and motivate the housekeeping team
  • Conduct regular training and ensure SOP adherence
  • Manage staff rosters and performance reviews
  • Address performance issues promptly and professionally
  • Conduct daily room and public area inspections
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards
  • Maintain SOPs, checklists, and brand standards
  • Drive continuous improvement through audits
  • Manage linen, amenities, and cleaning supplies
  • Maintain stock levels and minimise wastage
  • Control departmental expenses within budget
  • Oversee laundry operations and linen management
  • Report and track maintenance issues
  • Conduct regular condition checks of rooms and assets
  • Ensure all areas are maintained to high standards
  • Protect hotel assets through correct usage and training
  • Implement eco-friendly cleaning practices
  • Monitor water, energy, and chemical usage
  • Promote sustainability initiatives such as linen reuse programs
  • Maintain accurate records, logs, and reports
  • Communicate effectively across departments
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting

Requirements

  • Computer literacy
  • Hospitality qualification (Degree/Diploma advantageous)
  • Minimum 8–10 years’ experience, with at least 2–3 years in a similar role within a five-star property
  • Experience with OPERA Cloud
  • Strong operational and technical housekeeping knowledge
