About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Vehicle Tracking Technician to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for installing and configuring vehicle tracking and fleet management systems that meet our high standards of quality and technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and configure vehicle tracking and fleet management systems
- Test and verify all installations before closing job cards
- Conduct on-site fault finding, repairs, and technical adjustments
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality control
- Liaise professionally with clients on-site and provide support where required
- Complete and manage job cards and installation documentation accurately
- Communicate with the coordination team on job progress and challenges
- Adapt installations based on vehicle types and operational requirements
Requirements
- Matric or relevant technical qualification
- Qualification in Automotive Electronics or Motor Mechanics (advantageous)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in vehicle tracking / telematics installations
- Strong knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and automotive electronics
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and wiring schematics
- Valid driver’s license
- Medically fit and willing to travel, including mining environments
- Willing to work after hours and weekends when required
- No criminal record and a stable work track record
