Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare business activity reports, financial statements, and forecasts.
- Ensure that financial legal requirements are met.
- Develop financial reporting systems.
- Identify ways to reduce or maintain costs by studying financial reports and business processes.
- Assist management in making financial decisions.
- Collect, interpret, and review financial information.
- Report to management and stakeholders, providing advice on how the company and future business decisions might be impacted.
- Review, monitor, and manage budgets.
- Develop strategies that work to minimize financial risk.
- Supervise and assist the finance team.
- Collaborate with the accounting team to support various accounting projects and activities on a daily basis.
- Provide assistance to prepare financial statements according to company policies.
- Prepare financial status and analysis reports for the Board of Directors.
- Ensure that the financial team follows the institutions policies and regulations.
- Assist in accounts payable and receivable activities.
- Prepare the financial system for internal audit.
- Prepare the financial system for the external annual audit.
Qualifications:
- Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team of professionals to achieve common goals.
- A minimum qualification of a B.COM or other accounting qualification.
- CA(SA) status would be a distinct advantage.
- Ideally Qualified SAIPA Accountant.
