Role: Senior HR Business Partner
Location: Green Point and Durbanville, Cape Town
Overview
An established and fast-growing investment group operating accross multiple business sectors such as luxury hospitality, manufacturing and property development and investment are looking for a Senior HR Business Partner to build and lead the people function across the organisation.
This is a hands-on role for a seasoned HR professional who thrives in operational environments and enjoys shaping culture from the ground up. The successful candidate will work closely with leadership to create a workplace where teams feel supported, developed and proud to contribute.
The group is looking for someone with a strong presence, practical judgment and a genuine care for people. A natural mother-hen style leader who can build trust across both management and frontline teams will thrive in this environment.
Key Responsibilities
Culture & People Leadership
- Help define and embed a strong, positive organisational culture across all divisions.
- Build trust with staff at every level, from management to operational teams.
- Act as a visible and approachable HR partner across sites.
Industrial Relations & Employee Relations
- Manage all aspects of IR and employee relations.
- Handle disciplinary processes, grievances and labour matters in a fair and compliant manner.
- Ensure labour legislation compliance and maintain strong HR governance.
HR Operations
- Establish practical HR policies, procedures and frameworks suited to operational businesses.
- Oversee employee lifecycle processes including recruitment, onboarding, performance management and retention.
- Provide HR guidance to leadership on workforce planning and organisational structure.
Recruitment & Talent Development
- Lead end-to-end recruitment across operational and professional roles.
- Build talent pipelines and strengthen employer brand.
- Design onboarding processes that integrate employees into the culture quickly.
Training & Development
- Identify skills gaps and design training programmes for operational teams.
- Coordinate practical training initiatives such as financial literacy programmes and workplace development workshops.
- Support leadership development within the business.
HR Systems & Reporting
- Implement HR systems and reporting frameworks to support efficient people management.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
Requirements
Requirements
- Relevant HR qualification (Degree or equivalent).
- 7+ years HR experience, with significant exposure in operational environments.
- Experience within hospitality, manufacturing or similar operational industries highly advantageous.
- Strong Industrial Relations experience essential.
- Proven experience operating as a true HR Business Partner, working closely with leadership teams.
- Demonstrated ability to build HR structures and culture within growing businesses.
- Comfortable working across multiple sites.
