Job Description

Hire Resolves client is looking for an Intermediate BI Reporting Analyst to serve as the vital link between business stakeholders and the data ecosystem. This team is based in Cape Town and this is a hybrid role. This role focuses on translating business needs into actionable insights, developing automated reporting solutions, and ensuring data integrity for informed decision-making. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in BI tools and SQL, with a passion for delivering impactful business intelligence solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Liaison & Insights Generation:

  • Engage with business stakeholders to understand and document reporting requirements.
  • Translate business questions into actionable queries and provide meaningful insights.
  • Deliver timely ad hoc analysis to support data-driven decision-making.

Reporting Development & Maintenance:

  • Design, develop, and maintain dashboards and automated reporting solutions.
  • Ensure data accuracy, accessibility, and alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Work with data engineers to ensure reliable data pipelines and sources.

Optimization & Continuous Improvement:

  • Continuously refine reporting tools, templates, and processes.
  • Identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for business growth through data analysis.
  • Provide training and support for BI tools and self-service reporting capabilities.

Collaboration & Documentation:

  • Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and credit teams to align reporting solutions with broader data strategies.
  • Document reporting processes, data models, and visualization standards.

Monitoring & Troubleshooting:

  • Implement monitoring solutions to ensure data pipeline health.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data processing or performance issues.

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SSRS, or Excel.
  • Advanced SQL experience for querying and manipulating large datasets.
  • Strong understanding of data visualization best practices.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience in the credit or lending industry.
  • Exposure to Python, R, or other analytical programming languages.
  • Understanding of data warehouse structures and ETL processes (Snowflake is a plus).
  • Proven experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Snowflake.
  • Demonstrated experience with SQL or PostgreSQL.
