About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our client’s team as a Project Manager or Quantity Surveyor with Project Management experience. This role is integral to the successful execution and management of Solar PV projects in the C&I sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with the engineering team to ensure technical and legal compliance of the Solar PV System
- Populate the project program to be shared with clients and internally, ensuring site production aligns with the project program
- Oversee and manage sub-contractors and other vendors to meet required standards as per EPC contract
- Review the EPC contract with the team to ensure design, construction, and specifications align with the client’s expectations
- Ensure each project finishes on time and on budget while adhering to relevant legislation
- Develop and maintain project timelines, identify critical paths, and key milestones for project success
- Communicate with utilities and authorities regarding interconnection, permitting, and other legal compliance, including SSEG Applications
- Identify potential project risks and take preventive measures to avoid issues, determining response actions to mitigate any negative impacts
- Ensure all materials listed in the Bill of Quantity (BOQ) arrive on time and meet budget and quality standards
- Present a post-mortem analysis for each project in terms of timeline and budget and compile the handover pack for the client
- Oversee the Project Team Leader, Solar Installers, Casuals, and Sub-Contractors
- Lead and direct project meetings
- Provide non-conformance reports detailing issues on site and their impact on budget and timeline
- Compile weekly project reports for the Head of Projects, Managing Director, and Finance Manager
- Train and mentor Solar Foremen and Technicians
- Complete any additional ad hoc tasks requested by Senior Management
Requirements
- Qualified Project Manager or Quantity Surveyor with PM experience
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role
- Expertise in Solar PV in the C&I sector and electrical knowledge
- Strong team leadership skills
- Experience in contracts management (JBCC, EPC, etc.) and legal liability
- Excellent understanding of civils, construction, and quantity surveying processes
- Good understanding of finance management on projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with all stakeholders
