About the Role
Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a professional and service-driven Receptionist / Back Up Therapist for a luxury hotel based in Cape Town. This is a unique dual-role opportunity suited to a well-presented hospitality professional with strong guest service skills and a recognised therapy qualification.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcoming guests in a warm, professional manner and ensuring an exceptional first impression
- Managing spa reception operations including check-in, bookings, enquiries, and scheduling
- Providing accurate information on treatments, services, availability, and pricing
- Handling telephone, email, and in-person guest communication efficiently and professionally
- Managing appointment scheduling, amendments, and cancellations
- Processing guest payments and maintaining accurate billing records
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and welcoming reception area at all times
- Coordinating with therapists and spa team to ensure smooth daily operations
- Monitoring appointment flow to ensure efficient scheduling and guest experience
- Maintaining accurate guest records, preferences, and treatment history
- Providing therapeutic treatments when required, maintaining high service standards
- Ensuring all treatments are delivered according to spa protocols and guest needs
- Offering aftercare advice and recommending suitable home-care products
- Supporting guest satisfaction through proactive service and engagement
- Promoting spa services and supporting upselling where appropriate
- Ensuring clear communication between reception and treatment teams
- Maintaining confidentiality, professionalism, and brand standards at all times
- Supporting continuous improvement through feedback and operational awareness
Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Somatology qualification or equivalent (ITEC / SAAHSP / CIDESCO advantageous)
- Minimum of 23 years experience as a Beauty Therapist
- Strong front-of-house or reception experience advantageous
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities
- Professional, well-presented, and guest-focused approach
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and high service standards
