About the Role
A leading collection of luxury safari lodges and boutique travel brands is seeking a Senior Travel Advisor to join its exclusive Concierge Team based in Cape Town. This position is at the heart of the guest journey, blending personal service, high-level itinerary design, and authentic relationship building across Africa’s most exceptional destinations.
Key Responsibilities
- Relationship Building & Trade Engagement: Cultivate meaningful relationships with international travel advisors, DMC partners, and direct clients.
- Represent the Concierge Team with warmth and professionalism, ensuring trust and loyalty in every interaction. Handle sensitive requests and high-pressure situations with maturity and composure.
- Tailored Itinerary Design: Design multi-destination, luxury itineraries across Southern and East Africa.
- Incorporate bespoke transfers, boutique hotels, private guides, and exclusive experiences. Anticipate challenges proactively and deliver thoughtful, detail-oriented solutions.
- Sales & Revenue: Convert enquiries into confirmed bookings through expertise, trust, and exceptional service.
- Drive ancillary sales through extensions, flights, and bespoke experiences. Monitor margins, allocations, and inventory in collaboration with revenue teams.
- Coordination & Execution: Manage the full guest journey from enquiry to post-travel follow-up.
- Liaise seamlessly with lodge operations, logistics, and guest service teams. Ensure all arrangements are executed flawlessly and aligned with brand standards.
- Product Mastery & Brand Representation: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of partner lodges, hotels, and destinations.
- Conduct site visits, represent the brand at trade events, and contribute to training initiatives.
Requirements
- 5 years’ experience in luxury travel, safari sales, or high-end DMC operations.
- Deep understanding of South African safari regions, Cape Town, and the Winelands.
- Confident handling complex itineraries for international high-net-worth clients.
- Commercially astute with proven sales success and relationship management skills.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in systems such as Safari Portal, Tourplan, or CRM platforms.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
