About the Role
Our Fintech client in Observatory Cape Town is seeking a SAIPA Accountant with 2 years post experience to join their team. As a key member of the accounting department, you will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for clients or the organization.
- Record all financial transactions in the appropriate ledgers and journals.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Analyze financial statements to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with SAIPA standards, as well as local and international accounting regulations.
- Prepare and submit tax returns and other statutory filings in a timely manner.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Implement audit recommendations to improve financial processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- SAIPA membership and designation as a Professional Accountant (SA).
- Minimum of 2 years post SAIPA of experience in accounting or a related field.
