About the Role

Our retail client in Durbanville, Cape Town is seeking a SAIPA Accountant with 1-2 years post SAIPA experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for accounting, financial records, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting SAGE/PASTEL
Financial Record Keeping – Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for clients or the organization.
Record all financial transactions in the appropriate ledgers and journals.
Financial Reporting – Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Analyze financial statements to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
Compliance and Regulation – Ensure compliance with SAIPA standards, as well as local and international accounting regulations.
Prepare and submit tax returns and other statutory filings in a timely manner.
Budgeting and Forecasting – Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
Audit Support – Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Implement audit recommendations to improve financial processes.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Completed SAIPA Articles.
Minimum of 1-2 years post SAIPA experience in accounting or a related field.
