Job Description
Hire Resolve’s client is seeking an experienced Senior Materials Technician (SMT) to join their Cape Town team for a duration of 36 months starting in August.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee a road construction materials laboratory.
- Ensure compliance with Conditions of Contract (GCC 2015) and specifications (COLTO/COTO, SANS 1200, project-specific).
- Implement and manage Quality Control processes and Civil Materials Laboratory standards, including SANS 17025.
- Utilize proficient Microsoft Office skills for project documentation and reporting.
- Maintain excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective client and contractor relations.
- Coordinate with clients and contractors to ensure project requirements and expectations are met.
Requirements:
- Minimum National Diploma (ND) in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Registration with ECSA is advantageous.
- 5-8 years of experience in managing a road construction materials laboratory.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of specifications and Bill of Quantities.
- Experience with managing Quality Control and a Civil Materials Laboratory.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong client and contractor relation skills.
- Relevant experience with City of Cape Town projects is advantageous.
