About the Role
The Cape Winelands Retail Cashier and Technical Service & Support role combines front counter cashier duties, telephone answering and customer service with technical support assistance. The ideal candidate will be confident with customers, accurate with money and systems, and comfortable working in a fast-paced trade environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Process customer transactions accurately (cash, card, account sales)
- Ensure all accounts are in good standing before supply
- Balance till daily
- Issue invoices and receipts correctly
- Maintain neat and professional front counter
- Answer incoming calls professionally
- Take and relay clear messages
- Assist with basic product queries
- Direct calls efficiently to correct department
- Follow up on customer queries when required
- Assist with quotations
- Support colour mixer and sales staff
- Capture orders correctly on system
- Ensure correct pricing and discounts applied
Requirements
- Grade 12 / Senior Certificate
- Previous cashier or retail experience (Essential)
- Strong numerical accuracy
- Computer literate (POS systems experience preferred)
- IQ retail a benefit, must be able to use XLSX and Outlook
- Professional telephone manner
- Ability to handle pressure and multiple tasks
- Experience in paint, hardware or building materials (advantage)
- Honest, disciplined and dependable
- Fully bilingual in Afrikaans
