About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team as a Centurion: Payroll Specialist (PaySpace). This role requires someone who has strong hands-on experience with PaySpace and can confidently manage end-to-end payroll processes while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have built expertise within the payroll environment and can leverage PaySpace as a true business tool.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the full end-to-end payroll process
  • Validating payroll inputs and ensuring accurate monthly payroll processing
  • Running tax and management reporting through PaySpace
  • Preparing and submitting EMP201s as well as bi-annual and annual EMP501 reconciliations
  • Supporting payroll audits and ensuring legislative compliance
  • Applying a strong understanding of SARS source codes and statutory requirements
  • Providing payroll support and guidance to employees and management
  • Identifying discrepancies and implementing corrective actions
  • Maintaining payroll records and ensuring strict confidentiality
  • Staying updated with payroll legislation and system enhancements

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of payroll experience within a South African environment
  • Minimum 2 years hands-on experience using PaySpace (non-negotiable)
  • Degree in Taxation, Accounting, Finance or related qualification advantageous
  • Proven experience managing end-to-end payroll functions
  • Experience with payroll audits and statutory submissions
  • Strong understanding of South African payroll legislation and compliance requirements
