Job Description
About the Company
We are a well-established, multidisciplinary engineering firm specialising in innovative mechanical and precision engineering solutions. Our team designs and develops complex mechanical systems and machines from concept to completion, with a focus on performance, reliability, and long-term maintainability.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will take the lead on designing precision mechanical systems and machines from concept models using first principles, ensuring that all components and assemblies meet stringent performance, reliability, and accuracy requirements. You will also integrate operational and maintenance considerations into the design process. This role requires expertise in mechanical systems—including actuators, motors, drives, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, bushes, and sealing arrangements—while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on complex engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design of high-precision mechanical systems and components from first principles, ensuring compliance with fine tolerances and high-quality standards.
- Develop detailed 3D models, assemblies, and technical drawings for precision machinery.
- Design and select mechanical components, including actuators, motors, drives, gearboxes, various bearing types, shafts with bushes, and sealing arrangements.
- Consider operational and maintenance requirements when developing new machine designs.
- Manage the full design process, from concept development through detailed design, prototyping, testing, and final release for manufacturing.
- Analyze and interpret technical specifications, datasheets, and drawings to ensure accurate and reliable design solutions.
- Apply modern engineering analysis tools (e.g., FEA, tolerance analysis, kinematic simulation) to solve complex mechanical challenges.
- Review vendor drawings, prototypes, and fabrication packages to ensure compliance with design specifications.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth integration of mechanical systems with other disciplines.
- Maintain knowledge of industry design standards, codes, and best practices for precision mechanical engineering.
Why Join Us
- Work on innovative, high-precision mechanical engineering projects designed from first principles.
- Apply your expertise in mechanical systems and complex machine design while considering operational and maintenance requirements.
- Gain exposure to advanced design standards, technologies, and professional mentorship.
