Ceres: Logistics and Operations Manager

About the Role

The Logistics and Operations Manager will play a critical role in managing and optimizing all logistics, servicing operations, and staff to ensure efficient service delivery, high customer satisfaction, cost control, and strong team performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, Schedule, and oversee daily delivery, servicing, and collection of units
• Optimize routing to improve efficiency and reduce fuel and time costs
• Ensure all service level agreements are met
• Manage breakdowns, urgent requests, and operational issues promptly
• Monitor and improve operational KPI
• Lead, supervise, and motivate drivers, cleaners, and yard staff
• Conduct regular team meetings, training, and performance reviews
• Handle disciplinary processes, conflict resolution, and HR issues
• Build a positive, accountable, and safety-focused team culture
• Oversee fleet availability, maintenance, and servicing schedules
• Coordinate repairs and maintenance of units and vehicles
• Monitor operational costs (fuel, labour, maintenance) and manage overtime and staffing efficiency
• Report on cost per job, route efficiency, and overall profitability

Requirements

• Tertiary qualification in Logistics, Operations, or Supply Chain
• 5 years plus experience in logistics, operations, or fleet management
• Experience managing teams in labour-intensive environments
• Good communication and conflict management skills
• Financial awareness and cost control knowledge
• Knowledge of fleet and route management systems (advantageous)

• Formal education/certifications in Logistics, Operations, or Supply Chain
