About the Role

As a Food and Beverage Cost Controller at Kiara Lodge in Clarens, Free State, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient management of food and beverage costs, as well as contributing to the overall success of our resort. You will be responsible for calculating costs, planning, and controlling F&B aspects, while maintaining accurate records and inventory levels.

Key Responsibilities

• Calculate costs of food and beverage items
• Plan short and long-term F&B controlling and pricing aspects
• Record information and produce control reports periodically
• Maintain suitable inventory of food and beverage items
• Conduct daily stock counts on various areas/stocks
• Document all merchandise entering and leaving the store area
• Ensure tidiness and cleanliness of storage areas
• Report on variances and take follow-up action
• Liaise with suppliers to negotiate best possible pricing
• Utilize computer skills in Word, Excel, and GAAP back office systems

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of food and beverage products
• Good general knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
• Excellent communication and organization skills
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Accurate and reliable with strong administrative skills
• Previous bookkeeping/accounting experience an advantage
• Computer literate in Word, Excel
