Description:
A leading meat processing and food production company is looking for an experienced Technician with strong experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance, refrigeration, piping and plumbing, and supervising maintenance teams within a high-volume processing environment to join their team in Cullinan. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining equipment reliability, reducing downtime, supervising maintenance staff, and ensuring full compliance with occupational health, safety, and food hygiene standards across the facility.

Responsibilities:

• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance work

• Ensure job cards are completed accurately and within required turnaround times

• Manage and prioritise maintenance worklists

• Ensure effective response to breakdowns and accurate downtime reporting

• Maintain high standards of workmanship and equipment reliability

• Supervise maintenance staff, including timekeeping and follow-ups on completed work

• Maintain neat and compliant maintenance areas

• Take ownership of designated facility and ensure company standards are upheld

• Report deviations from policies and procedures

• Ensure temperature specifications are maintained within operational areas

• Enforce correct use of PPE and hygiene standards

• Perform duties in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations

• Be available for standby duties

Requirements:

• Grade 12 (Matric)

• Trade Test qualification (Electrical or Mechanical)

• 510 years general maintenance and supervisory experience within a meat processing or food production environment

• Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical maintenance

• Experience with refrigeration systems

• Experience with piping and plumbing

• Knowledge of procurement processes

• Understanding of OSH Act and food safety standards

• Must be able to commute reliably to Cullinan or be willing to relocate at own cost

• Salary expectations and most recent payslip must be submitted with application
